Can it work on 2 GB SD Card..??? As I have partitioned to fat... Not fat32
It was unable to mount the ext2 partition in 1.0.3 on my Motorola XT720 (I have it set up properly, as it works with Apps2SD and App2Card). I tried 1.0.4 but I'm still getting the error that it can't mount the partition. Is there anything I can try in order to remedy this situation? I really like the idea of your program and would like to use.seems that automount script (/system/etc/install-recovery.sh) does not work on some phones.
Therefore I've changed the application and uploaded new release.
In new release Link2SD does not mount ext2 partition at startup, instead, it only creates automount script and asks for a restart.
After restart if ext2 is mounted you can create link for applications, otherwise not.
Much safer...
You can install the new version (1.0.4) from first post.
yes. make sure to copy your backed up files back onto your sd card prior to turning off your phone. this eliminates the issue for mei tried the partition and every time i mount the card back in the phone it says the sd card is corrupt and needs formatted. any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestion, I will consider this feature for a future release.
Currently I'm working on to make Link2SD usable on more roms.
Meanwhile I would like to point out that if you mount your sd card as usb mass storage, applications which are linked by Link2SD will not be affected, they will run without any problems.

Do you mean when you connect to PC via USB?
Also...
I have partitioned my 8GB MicroSD into 6GB(FAT) and 2GB(ext2).
I linked some apps (Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja) to SD.
Rebooted. (Turning off and turning on phone)
However on startup, the apps does not display the app icon and displays the app name as com.rovio..... etc
When try to launch will always FC.
I have tried relinking but no luck.
Any help? Suggestions? Ideas?

Yes, connect to PC as mass storage. Android unmounts FAT partition and make it visible to PC as a drive for this. But ext2 mount remains, that's why linked applications are not affected.
Broken Android permissions may cause force closes.
Can you try to re-install one of the applications which has force close problem, and then if it works create link again with Link2SD.
Super app. Works fine on my x8... (instead of "Create link" change the word to "Move To SD Card" )Instead of moving all applications to SD card with app2sd, I want to move only selected applications.
Because I don't want to move my launcher, soft keyboard and dialer application to SD and make them unavaliable on boot if my SD card has problem or not inserted.
In order to do this I developed an application called Link2SD.
The idea behind is same, linking to SD card ext2 partititon but differs in two ways.
First, instead of linking /data/app folder (that means moving all applications), you can select applicatons that you want to move.
Second, it's an application, so it has an user interface. You can manage your applications, create or remove links with just one click.
There is no mount/copy commands from adb, shell scripts etc.
Feauters:
- Creates and removes link for application you select
- Lists applications, shows they are linked or not
- Sorts and filters applications
- Displays available space information of phone, SD card and SD card ext2 partition.
What you need:
- root permission.
- ext2 partition on your SD card. 2 partitions set up, first FAT32 and second ext2, both are primary.
I use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" (free) for this.
- That's all. Just install Link2SD.apk, it will do all necessary. No need to copy files or run scripts from command line.
How it works:
Link2SD mounts ext2 partition of your SD card as /data/sdext2 and makes OS mounts it at boot time. (with /system/etc/install-recovery.sh file)
When you select an application and press "Create Link" button it moves apk file to SD ext2 partition and creates a symbolic link in original directory (/data/app).
Note: After this step, application icon disappears from the phone on Android 1.6 and 2.1, but after reboot you can see and run without problems. On 2.2+ this is not the case.
Can I remove the link and put application back to phone storage?
Yes, just click on application which is linked and press "Remove Link" button. Link2SD removes symbolic link and move apk file to orginal directory.
What happens if I uninstall a linked application?
If you uninstall a linked application it will be uninstalled from the system but apk file remains in /data/sdext2 directory, you need to delete it manually.
Therefore remove the link before uninstalling a linked application.
Some points
- If you applied App2sd, please uninstall App2sd and revert to original. Otherwise you cannot create link with Link2SD. Link2SD detects this and warns you at startup.
- Link2SD detects applications which are already moved to SD card on Android 2.2+ natively and disables "create link" for them.
- System applications should not be linked to SD card. Link2SD does not allow these applications to be linked.
Link2SD does not move data and dalvik-cache, it only moves the apk file. This is what Android 2.2+ does. APKs are actually on the card; the dex files, private data directories, and native shared libraries remain in internal storage.
If you have root access and a SD card with ext2 partition you can try.

Unfortunately, pm isn't available in TWRP.In recovery mode connect to pc on adb shell
pm enable /system/priv-app/FusedLocation/FusedLocation.apk
Or
pm enable FusedLocation

Hello Guys,
I am a newbie for android OS. You stated that you can do this SD partition stuff with MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" (free). Sahll I have to use a lunix based pc? or Win Xp is enough?
Besides, ext2 partition will be used for the apps. And SD card also has another partition with FAT 16 format. So, what will be ratio for these partitions? Let's say I owned a 8 gb SD card. What will be proper partition sizes?
As a last question, We will first install the apps to phone memory. And then link it to SD card. Am i right?
thank you for your support.
