Thumbs up How to root Dell Streak 7 using SuperOneClick

How to root the Dell Streak 7 using SuperOneClick:
Credits go to CLShortfuse for the application.

Note: I never installed the drivers for the Dell Streak 7 prior to doing this. I haven't been able to find them. Windows seemed to find the right ones for my Dell which is rare.

Also if you don't have ADB drivers already then goto this link and follow the directions to install them.

http://myhtcdesire.com/tutorials/how...ver-on-windows

The OS used was Windows 7 x64.

Here is an easy ADB Tutorial if needed.

http://www.xda-developers.com/androi...easy-tutorial/

I typed adb devices

and the Dell Streak 7 was listed.
1. Plug up your Dell Streak 7 to the computer.

2. Make sure the Streak is in debugging mode. Go under Settings/Development/USB Debugging.

3. Head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682 and download the SuperOneClick 1.6.3.

optional: Open a command prompt to ensure adb sees your device. Type "adb devices" and check if a device is listed.

4. Open SuperOneClick application in the folder and click the Root button. SuperOneClick installs Superuser and busybox without any problems.

Again Credits go to CLShortfuse for SuperOneClick.

What OS are you using? Worked fine on Windows 7 x64 with out having Dell drivers available.

You may need to install ADB drivers. Here is a link to a tutorial for that.

Count me in as not able to root also...I have rooted every android phone I've had and never had any problems until this one....At the same time, I always used to do it on windows xp. Maybe ill just go back to my old xp comp to do this
