They most definitely could be removed, but I rather like them.

This should work on any and all roms based off KB1. It will replace all of the theming though since this is based on the stock frameworks.

It should also work on deodexed versions of KA5, KA6 and KA7... but I need someone to test and confirm this.

Are those blank spaces so that we can add other "unlock" options? Like opening music player or phone straight from the lock screen? I've seen that discussed in other threads and would love that.

I don't think I could figure out how to remove them so I guess I'll get used to them. Thanks.

if its just editing images in or out, then you have plenty of material available on XDA here to make the removal painless

just replace the arrows in the framework with blank pngs and bam, arrows gone. I took Xtone's modified epic unlock screen, and removed the lock icon on the slider, and replaced the unlock toast with my astro sign. Here ya go as an example

I assumed they were xml, if they are png I can handle that, do you know what folder inside the framework?

What hoey said is correct and I meant to suggest it but got swamped in work. The images you are looking for are inside the framework/res/drawable-hdpi.

They are jog_dial_arrow_long_left_green and jog_dial_arrow_long_right_red.

Sorry but I have never worked on odex files before so I do not know how to patch them.
