Okay, so to go back to the CM kernel from kang's, I would have to flash a whole bunch of different junk. Two parter.

A. Would it be possible to do it through CWM?

B. Where would I find/learn to make something like this?

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

EDIT: or would it be easier to re flash CM again?

Nexus s rom? If you mean Ginger clone, well it was not actually a nexus s rom

Open Odin first (as admin) then plug the phone, try another USB port

I unfortunately had to install samsung kies mini in order for the drivers to correctly load and odin to detect the device for the captivate.

For the people getting bad battery life, I tried the Jl3 modem today and got noticibly better battery life.

So if we are starting from stock Samsung, before we follow the instructions to flash CM7, we should flash another rom, enable HSPA, and then flash CM7?

Yes.
Firefly is a good ROM to start with.

You don't necessarily need to. I flashed jk4 modem after installing cm7 and got H back.

I think someone was making a CWM flashable zip.... whether they succeeded or not, I am not sure. It was under yesterday's posts somewhere.
