Important Notice About DEMO Mode Devices! Read Before Posting Or Instant Infraction!

All members please use this as reference if you are thinking of buying a Samsung Focus.

Make sure you:

Avoid ALL phones that have a DEMO ROM on them as they may be stolen.

Only buy from safe sources, ie. reputable online business or an ebay shop power seller.

If you have purchased a phone with a DEMO ROM then return it immediately.

Note that there are no Firmwares available at present for the Samsung Focus so DEMO Mode cannot be removed. Please DONT ASK!

How do I know if my phone has a DEMO ROM?

The AT&T Device Alive application is the Demo app but it can be deleted.
The phone will still go into Demo Mode anyway after approx. 5 minutes.

Another way to tell for certain is to format the phone and see if the program comes back. The pics are from a freshly formatted focus that has Demo Mode. This is a fool proof way to find out.

To Format your device, make sure it is turned off then hold down the following buttons simaultaneously:
Vol Down, Camera and Power.

Hold all 3 buttons until the Format screen appears. Choose Format and then Yes. The device will now proceed with formatting. Once finished, your device will reboot and you will be able to see if it matches any of the pictures posted below.

What can I do if I discover I have a phone with a DEMO ROM?

If you purchased the phone in good faith from somewhere like eBay, if you are covered then you can just use the Buyer Protection in order to return the item and obtain a refund. Make sure you report it to eBay also as possible stolen goods.
