[Q] HTC Inspire 4G will not reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery

This is my first question as I am a brand new Android user. I left the iPhone for the Inspire 4G and have been digging since day 1 for info on rooting, etc (I never jailbroke my iPhone so this is all new to me). I have attempted to install several ROMs from the SD card. One in particular is a kernel called "Buzz_SENSE_1.3.8.3_OC+.zip". I have save this file to my SD card. In ROM Manager, every time I attempt to "Install ROM from SD", I am shown a popup that reads "Reboot and Install: Press OK to reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery and continue the installation." Upon pressing ok, the screen goes off, the HTC logo comes up on a white background, and 6-7 seconds later, the screen performs a nasty fade to black. There is nothing that remedies this other than pulling the battery. Any help? and my apologies if this is in the wrong place. Thanks.
