Default Scratched camera window

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a fix for a scratched camera window? Can it be replaced with out changing battery covers? Maybe a DIY? I'm considering the polishing attachments on my rotary tool at the moment.

Chris.

Just ditch the camera window or get creative. watch in sequence:

I followed it and the image quality improved a lot.

I had the same issue, and in the end i replaced the back cover because it was pissing me off. Not a cheap solution (25&euro but worth it imho. Together with that i ordered a martin fields protector, which includes a small protector (much more resistant than default plastic) for that window, it helps a lot. Being that thing made of cheap plastic it's all you can do about it i'm afraid...it's a shame htc didn't use some more glass for a high end device tho...

I saw a thread somewhere about people replacing the standard plastic lens cover with a sapphire glass one - clear image and no degradation in quality over time

Just got a set of martin fields protectors, excellent but a little pricey compared to most, easiest fix is just remove the back cover when taking photos and then snap back on after.

indeed, I've popped mine out currently, quality is amazing now!
in theory you don't need a replacement window (the magic never had one to begin with) but I have dirty pockets so I'm going for a sapphire replacement glass as well.

cheers
