Also, Would these animations be safe to flash on other android phones? A friend has the huawei ascend and was wanting the android peeing on apple boot. lol that boot is awesome
I know that the shut down sound was removed in the CommROM patch release.. so that will affect whether it continues to be present..

The shutdown sound is file in the system/media/audio/ui folder called "shutdown.ogg".. You can look to see if it continues to be the resident in the folder.

I am hesitant to say that flashing these boot on other phones will be successful.. the edify and append install scripts and zip file structure may put the file in the wrong location and not work.. the flashes I packaged are designed to work with the fascinate and some other phones I am not familiar with ascend at all.

O ok... well that would explain why i had sound then lost it. Thanks for info about comrom. Also, thanks for the heads up on the ascend. I'll just hold off then. Dont want to brick his phone or anything.

The only issue is - none of the current kernels support boot sound.. I have a PowerOn.wav file in my system/etc folder at all times and have been listening for a friendly sound when I try a new kernel - thus far - no joy.

There was a fleeting moment with a imnuts kernel a few months ago but it was not stable.

Sorry.
Cool, thanks for the info! Here's hoping they fix that soon.

The other features that have been problematic are.. some kernels will play shutdowns and others will not.. There are also framework modifications that will affect whether a shutdown will play. I have not been a fan and only put them up for the daring to try to install..

Ah damn, then I guess my kernel wont let me, because I def. put it
in the correct place. But if it was edify I could flash it

I have a couple of boots ill post when I get home from work. And if anybody sees a bootani they like I can port it over.

EDIT:: I'm Home.

this is the Nexus 1 Boot Animation but rotated 90 degrees so it come in from the top and bottom. not sides. It fits the phone really nice now.
This is the boot animation file that needs to be copy/pasted to system media. I'll put the flash files up in a min.

That one requires a download and rename to "bootanimation.zip".... then move to your sdcard and then copy and paste to the system/media folder on the root of the phone.. I will move over some instructions...

Here are a couple of links for the flash versions..

Decepticon Flashable: Append -||- Edify

I really like vid game stuff and some may like this pacman boot.
It was a manual install zip so I just packaged it into an edify (cwm3.0) flash zip. Since this is compatible with both cwm 2.5* and 3.0 only need one file.

Preview == Download
