US Cellular won't hand you an image that includes root, so you'll need to re-root your phone after flashing this. Otherwise, that's all this is, as the title says: a Stock Froyo update.
What are you after for an end-result---custom ROM? Getting CWM Red flashed? Getting your phone back to stock?
If you're after the last point, you've got it. The other suggestions require additional steps.

After that, I turned on my phone and all I noticed was that I no longer have SU, so Im assuming all I did was un root my phone.
Any help, please?
I know how to root my phone, but I chose this method to easily get recovery going.
I have a Samsung Mesmerize from USCC. SCH - I500. etc.

He's correct you grabbed the stock only - there is one with custom recovery and root there as well if you wanted the ability to customize your phone any further (you don't have to use it of course, if that's not your plan)
