Guys,

I just got my phone, and had a USB cable, so started to make one myself. I am tapping the resistors to the terminals. I did what I believe to be the right ones, and it booted normally. I don't know if I'm making contact long enough to be doing it right.

But can anyone confirm if the "non working" ones will boot usually, or if they simply do nothing?

If nothing, looks good. If they boot normally, not looking good

If it doesn't work the phone wont boot at all. Stays off.

OK thanks for confirming. I have since found the phone is starting regardless of the JIG being near the phone. Taken the battery out to let it "calm down".

Removed battery etc and it will stay off now...

So... Will try properly again later, and I ordered one on eBay for £4 to see... Need to know for sure before I start flashing it though.
