[Q] Could the Tab be too thin?

I was going out and was going to use the navigation on my Tab to get to the place where I wanted to go, so I set it in my passenger seat. I picked it up shortly after and to my horror there was a massive spot inside of the screen that kept getting bigger as the Tab sat there. It looked as if water had gotten under the middle of the screen, or as if the top layer was smashing the layer of glass underneath. My immediate reaction was to bring it back in to cool it down in the hope that the layers of the screen would get unstuck and sure enough, it did. What would cause this? Or is it just because the they tried to go all out in thinness and everything on the inside is too close together. I live in Minnesota, so it doesn't get very hot here, it's 90 today, which is actually quite warm.
