I had the same problem when installing WLM on the external memory (CF card).
Then I tryed removing the program from there and installing again onto the main memory: all is working correctly, now.

Hope this helps.

Unhappy Another Bricked X50v....?

Is there is way to revive it?

Here's what happened. Unit ran Windows Mobile 2003 SE. I followed this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330748

Attention! If you have Windows Mobile 2003SE ROM on your device, FIRST, please download THIS ARCHIVE (RAR 32.4 MB), and update your PDA to A01 Windows Mobile 5 ROM.
After that, please download official WM5 A02 ROM and update your PDA to WM5 A02 ROM.

I downloaded the first file, which extracted the following 4 files:

WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
WM50_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
WM50_K_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc

I renamed the first two to:
DiMa_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG.nb0
DiMa_B_A01_X50v_WM5_ENG_nb0.crc

Pressed Power + Wifi + Soft Reset. It found the DiMa bootloader, so I pressed the action button twice. It then told me to hard reset.

At this stage, I pressed "Power + Wifi + Soft Reset". Then the PDA is completely dead, whatever I do, it won't turn on.

My x50v is now fooked and tears are flowing out of my eyes atm

What can I do from here on?

I did it according to this tutorial:
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/x50-x...-flashing.html

It told me to pressed "Power+ wifi+ soft reset" when the unit says "hard reset" after flashing the DiMa bootloader.
"6. After the process is finished (takes only a few seconds) you will be asked to hard reset your system. Ignore this message and press Wireless + Power + Reset again."

Help, how can I get into the bootloader or get this to even turn on?

After searching these forum's for the answer I'm afraid I seem to have bricked my X50v too, I like you, got to the hard reset stage after installing the WM5 boot loader successfully (So it said) ((following the instructions in the forum)), and now the Axim refuses to even get to the SD boot loader screen, the unit seems completly dead, even when pressing the Boot loader combination buttons.

The only logical reason I can come up with is that it must have corrupted when installing the WM5 Loader.

If anyone is able to help let me know please..... otherwise there are going to be tears before bed tonight

WooooooooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooooooooo I fixed it today... no more dead Axim X50v - I'm so happy....

Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you,Thank you, MAGLIGHT for your Superb WM6 (A02)ROM it is so good, I can't thank you enough!

OK i'm guessing others who appear to have "completly dead" Axims after updating to the WM5 boot loader may want to know how I did it so here we go:

1. Start with the basics, if you (like me) have been trying to boot your Axim for some time to the boot loader without succeding then your battery is not likly to be fully charged so before going any further make sure your power light is green before you start on the cradle.

2. When I actually flashed the boot loader it said it was successful, so you might as well rename the bootloader files back to WM50 ready to flash later on your SD card.

3. I was under the impression that my Axim was totally dead I was wrong, it was "playing" dead. Prove to yourself that your Axim is not dead by doing this button combination: Record button + Power Button + tap Reset button but continue to hold the other two for about 5 sec until the Axim Diagnostic screen appears when it does release the Power & Record buttons and press the email button (2nd one in from the right) as stated on the screen, this allows you to access the diag mode.

3. Ok so now your Axim is not dead? Right while it's running it's checks you can now do the buttton combination for the SD loader Wirless + Power + tap Reset button but keeping holding the Wireless and power until it gets to the boot loader screen,

4. Now you should be at the Boot loader screen, follow Maglights instructions of how to continue installing the WM5 images not forgetting to to the A02 update from Dells site once A01 has been installed then your ready for WM6... Hope this helps sorry it is an essay and has probibally taken up far to much of the forum....

Default Flashing without SD card

Hi all, just joined this forum after reading so much good praise about wm6 and maglite.
Heres my problem, my x50v hasn't been used for awhile since i lent a friend my 1gb sd card which he lost. So after about 2 month of the pda sitting on the shelf I ordered a 4gb sdhc card not knowing that it isn't compatible with wm5. Is there anyway i can flash my device from the cradle?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I didn't read all 100+ pages of this forum/topic.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

First you should GO here this is ver. A02 RTM and because ver. A01 has a lot of bugs.

Second read the first post on till you feel you can do it.

Third You will need a regular sd card (sorry )

Hi again,
thanks for the speedy reply ultraprimeomega and thanks for confirming that i can only flash it from a SD card. I'll post an update on how it goes as soon as I lay my hands on a different card.
I remember flashing wm5 onto my pda from an old card so the process should go smoothly.
I only thing I'm left unsure about is, can I flash straight to WM6 A02 from WM5? Once again I'm sorry if this has already been covered in past pages.

Thanks for the help.

If your using WM5 A02 (Dells Release) then you can go straight to Maglite's WM6 A02.... Enjoy

Regarding the application execution time, it is really .... slow (of course compared with 2003SE). I have to set the CPU to 624MHz in order to speed up the execution.

Yesterday, I really can't accept the speed and hard reset it, then re-install all applications to SD card (66x). And the speed seems faster a bit.

I would like to ask what is the max transfer rate for x50v SDIO? Since I have a 150x SD card, will it be faster than that of using a 66x SD card?
