You should update this thread with your own kernels which are possibly the best out there atm.

Sent from my X10 using XDA Premium App

yups i will update the thread...

thanks for the high praise BUT the kernel (atleast as of now) is 98% the same as zKernel 05072011 (as it is derived from it)... so zKernel is that damn good ;)

I dint install any of those "bootkit" or "chargemon" etc nor change the boot.img file names.. but im still able to flash custom kernels .. is it fine ? .. i can see the change of kernel name, does it make sure i m using the custom kernel ? ..

yes that means u are using Custom Kernel... some roms integrate those files...

You are very modest sir and downplaying your great work. Although you claim the kernel is 98% Zkernel, I do know there is a big difference between the two in terms of stability. Don't get me wrong, without Zs work we wouldn't be here but I think you are selling yourself short. Your kernel has been very stable from first boot, to UCing and to OCing. Not to mention 1152 & 1190mhz has been very smooth which I've been testing for the last 12hrs. Also Wlods has been very minimal compared to the last couple of Zkernels I've tested so your credit is well deserved IMHO. Anyways keep up the great work and hopefully your work on dual booting can also progress now that we have this great kernel. :D

May i suggest looking into something.
The radio in the x10 boosts the signal in low signal area's.
I'm not sure if the amount of voltage given to the radio is controlled by the kernel or baseband.

But i am thinking that it may be the cure for the severe overheating issue as SE could have set this parameter to high.

Bootloader Bypass files:

{there should be no need to use any of the following files but i am just keeping them for reference sake}

There seems to be some issues face by some users, where in using an older version of miniloader helped them sort out the issues. So I will provide all those versions.
Flashable update.zip via recovery, contains miniloader & splboot.ko:
  1. bootloader_bypass_files_v1.zip [slightly older miniloader] {came with older FreeXperiaKernels}
  2. bootloader_bypass_files_v2.zip [older miniloader] (testing only) {came with FreeKernel by zdzihu}
  3. bootloader_bypass_files_v3.zip [older miniloader] (testing only) {came with Flashtool v0.2.9.1}
  4. bootloader_bypass_files_v4.zip (recommended) [newest miniloader] {comes with newer FreeXperiaKernels (from CM7 J022 K011 onwards)}

hi i am currently not using CM7 so cant check... if someone can recheck & reproduce this error it would be great!

the single packages (chargemon+boot.img+other files) are from the links posted by Goro & hrsy96...

also i had specifically mentioned that:

Link provided by developer (flashable via recovery):

[for 2.2 ROM]
FreeKernel-mod362-froyo with xrec0.3

[for 2.2/TripNMiUI FroYo 1.7.3]
FreeKernel mod362 miui22

[for 2.3/TripNMiUI GB 0.9.5]
FreeKernel mod362 miuiGB09

[IMP] ALL of the packages above contains a different chargemon/recovery & busybox (which might mess up ur rom)

Yeah, I know. I thought it'd work like the stock ROM where I flashed the Goro's package(3.60) and everything went fine. Haha.

EDIT : Still can't get it to work, the device boot but the kernel is not present. I've flashed all three files(boot.img, wifi.ko, and miniloader_v5). What am I missing? Currently on Free X10.

I've checked the kernel files and it did not flashed the files so I replaced them manually. But I still can't get the kernel to load.

Hi Doom,

Just to confirm that the wifi module does not work on cm7 roms as i tested it for somebody yesterday, this file works fine...

http://doomlord.sylvester20007.com/x10/custom_kernels/boot.img/boot.img_FreeKernel-mod362-GB.zip

but this wifi does not and gives error...

http://doomlord.sylvester20007.com/x10/custom_kernels/modules/modules_FreeKernel-mod362_wifi_CM7.zip

I did also try the other module listed and a few from your x series but no luck.

thank you for confirming.. i will contact goro regarding this...
