Yes that would be smart. Or you could use the Blue Magic and just not buff it very long, and that would provide a layer of silicon to protect the surface.

Maybe a company can make aftermarket versions like this. Also, the polished area shows every scratch or scuff. Glad I have a replacement on the way. I am not really satisfied with it. Also I dont know if I did something wrong, but my plastic pieces no longer sit flush. This bothers me.
If you are still seeing the scratch marks, then you need to keep sanding. That is the main reason it took me 6 hours doing this by hand. Plus try the Blue Magic Metal Polish Creme. I have tried others, and they don't even come close to comparing.

I just prefer the black coating instead of the brush metal look i have here, and it takes way too long to achieve chromeness which i am still working on

My attempt.

While I'm happy with it, and it looks good - It does indeed show every scuff/smudge.

Pro tip, if you're going to do this - when you superglue the antenna panels back on, use clamps! Otherwise they won't sit flush. Had to take mine off and re-do them.

DONATE TO ME
I currently have an iPhone 4, but am now going to get the Senstion later tonight. I was dissapointed by the way the sensation looked (Because I Like Chrome). But this mod has given me that extra push to buy one.

Gonna take a trip to Halford's (Big car parts shop in uk) on the way home and do this.

I'll then try and record a video of the different stages for you guys. I'll post it up in the next few days.

Great work on the mod mate.

When you say custom battery covers, what does that include? Is it possibly for them to ship you just the frame with no paint? Still $75 for just the part seems a little high. It would be great if we could find the company that manufacturers the frames and just buy a ton of them to get the price down.
