[MOD] BackLight Notifications for Galaxy SII - GT9100 and GTI9100M Bell's

What is BackLight Notifications / BLN :

BLN (Back Light Notification) will get the "menu" & "back" buttons to light up when you have a new text or email or missed call, so no more unlocking the screen to discover a notification from hours beforehand...

This MOD is compatible with every firmware / ROM based on 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 or 2.3.5
You just need CWM recovery
This MOD is not compatible with CM7 (kernel not compatible).
This will change your kernel to the up to date and excellent ninphetamine kernel

My CWM Update.zip :

* Ninphetamine kernel 2.1.3 with improved BLN support (and much more)
* Moded Library "lights.GT-I9100.so"
* Free marcket apk : BLN_Control_Free (free) a pay version exist if you want, like in the screenshot bellow ...
* During flash process, phone model will be checked (not for the Bell CWM)

[HOW TO] - BLN Control app :

BLN Control exixts in 2 versions :
* Free app :
-- will just enable BLN on GS2. Then BLN will work only with applications supporting BLN (GMail, GO SMS PRO ...)
-- won't allow BLN for missed call (for this, use the pro version)
-- won't allow advanced features like preventing BLN during night, blinking ...

* Pay App :
-- same as free version +
-- BLN for android-OS apps > enable call notification
-- allow advanced features like preventing BLN during night, blinking ...

BLN won't work with Stock SMS application (for using BLN with SMS, use markets apps, like Handcent, Go SMS pro ...)
Edit : there is a mod to enable BLN on stock SMS app, but it is firmware dependent, so check if your ROM is using it (mine is ... )

Installation :

This is a CWM update.zip. YOU NEED CWM Recovery Mode
1/ Copy Back_Light_Notification_GS2.zip to your internal /sdcard
2/ reboot to CWM recovery mode"
3/ go to Install zip from sdcard > choose zip to install > navigate to the .zip > select it
4/ reboot when done

Works fine for me too but how to desactivate the wake up screen when receiving message or mail? BLN don't work when screen turn on when receiving message or mail.

Edit : Don't work for messages work only for missed calls !

it should work well but you need CWM recovery

If I already have the paid version of BLN and I install Ninphetamine kernel 2.0.4 do I still want to flash this?

Working for me on Lightning Rom v5

However it didn't work while I had an email notification uncleared. But once I removed that, it worked for Handcent.

yes cause you need the moded library lights.GT-I9100.so
You can just open without extracting the .zip > go to /data/app and delete the apk present
then close, copy to /sdcard and flash the update.zip

Works well with :
missed calls
Mail received from Gmail

not working : received SMS

New kernel

Hacre has updated his kernel, now 2.0.5 with better battery life when using BLN!
