Is the volume down stuck at all?
You are reading it correctly.

Volume works perfectly.

I watched a tutorial a few minutes ago and it said to make sure my fastboot was off, when I ran Revolutionary it was on. Could that have been an issue?

Try running this RUU Image, this should get you back to Stock/Start and then rerun the rev tool again

so, has anyone found a way to root the Evo using a mac? I've tried doing it in both Windows and Linux through VMWare Fusion and have yet to get it to work.

Ok i flashed the pc36img.ZIP then phone rebooted to home screen with no probs. Do i put the recovery-RA-supersonic-v2.3.img on root of SD card to? After that do i go into Amon & find my SU folder & flash that to gain my root access? After i did the rooting method it said i was rooted & S is Off. What do i need to do to get my Root working? Oh & should i delete Img. folders that i have already flashed on my SD card??

Do this again
Place PC36IMG.zip on the root of your sd card.
Boot the phone into the bootloader by powering the phone down, then press the power and the volume down buttons at the same time.
Once the phone boots into the bootloader the phone will automatically recognize the zip file. It will ask if you would like to update, select yes and let it do it's thing and you will be good to go

Then boot into recovery and flash the superuser file again

I finally got it!! Here's what I did if anyone else has problems on a mac:

Was able to get it to work using Ubuntu through VMWare Fusion
1) Make sure phone is connected to Linux by going to "Virtual Machine" --> "USB" --> "Connect High Android 1.0"
2) Ran revolutionary through terminal using "sudo ./revolutionary"
3) Copy and pasted serial/beta key as described on this thread many times
4) Program froze on "zerging root..."
5) Letting terminal sit there for a few minutes, I checked the "Virtual Machine"-->"USB" and noticed the phone had disconnected. Clicked on "Connect High Android 1.0" again
6) It completed root and rebooted to fastboot twice and gave me s-off.

Looking forward to seeing if the ruu turns s-off to s-on. I was just wondering if it was like unrevoked forever
