You can do this yourself by using Root Explorer and deleting data/system/batterystats.bin It will recreate on its own. I would do it on a full charge though. That is what the app does and presumably what a mod would do if Mz created it.

yeah that was what i didnt want to do lol. id rather use the battery calibration app from the market to do that. i would put a wipe batt stats in the OR so that its more convenient and i dont have to manually do it when i boot into the newly flashed rom or backup android.

I addition to erasing it, backing up and restoring the battery stats file would probably be useful, too. I'll add it to my todo list.

I was having all sorts of problems with nandroid in original OpenRecovery and AOR freezing when dumping also.

Turns out it was the crappy SD card that came with the phone. I put in a spare I had (only 4gb but class 6) and it worked instantly and much faster. Waiting for a new 16GB Class 10 to come in.

If possible try another SD card.

I was also having that same problem with AOR and this one. It actually screwed up my Zipthemer app and I couldn't apply any update.zips at all. One solution I found was to re-unzip file and recopy over the folders with fresh data. Almost like a fresh install. Just make sure you don't overwrite the updates folder or you'll lose whatever is in there.

If you want Open Recovery, you don't need an apk for it. Just download the zip one in the OP. Extract as said there and you're done.
Edit fjfalcon was quicker
