From what I gather, if I use this method, I gain root as soon as I get the # prompt, correct?

If so, could I use this method to install an app freezer? I'd have to adb install it, but then what would I do to make sure that it had the proper permissions?

I had an error or two along the way but i'm happy to say that it worked. Will reply back later to show the error got to run right now.

This method works loads better. Even if your still on 2.1
When it shows # you still don't have "real" root. don't even bother to just stop there not much at all will work. wont be able to freeze apps either.

best to flash a root version of the original Rom, then you can do all you please

take that back, during update it ffailed onbootloader, but then inrecovery to apply update.zip, took a few secs, did it, but still in android recovery... what now?

bypassed bootloader and says cannot rollback bootloader version. Since it applied update.zip, im going to try to rename cm7.zip file to update.zip and push to phone and push thru adb and see if thatll help something.

scratch that, from anopther method my update.zip was already a rom not cwm, fixed now AND DONE OMFG 140megs of app space sucks, back to speediness and app overflowiness. TY

finally got it rooted had to find a good download of ESPRIMG.zip the one in op is bad. thanks for the help
