I'm sorry if this is completely unrelated, but I don't have enough posts for the dev forum yet. Entropy, I want to get rid of the exclamation point on my boot screen, do I have to use ADB after I flash the stock kernal or is there an alternative to ADB?

Thanks for responding...but the wakelock disappeared after wiping cache and reinstalling exp kernal in CWM. If you're actually curious about the problem I'd be happy to recreate it and post the log.

I can say, I don't think its dependent on the version of the kernal, but rather some glitch in voltage control's function that alters something in the cache. Honestly I don't know what that cache is for, or if that's logical.

You need a JIG to remove the exclamation point from your boot screen

Or flash back to STOCK, but your flash count won't be erased...

Default Saving your battery

1st off, your phone is not defective. Neither is your ROM or anything else for that matter (mostly). Those suggesting otherwise, aren't helping anyone.

Saving your battery depends tremendously on how you have your phone set up.
There are so many settings that can absolutely murder your battery.

I too was in the 10 hour crowd (stay-cation playing with my new jewel).
My drain was running anywhere from 150mA to 400mA continuous. Never Sleeping. Too many wakelocks, permanent wifi etc. etc.

Hints
Here are some of the steps I've taken to keep the drain to a minimum.
By minimum I'm talking 2-to -40mA when off. The lower this number, the better your prepared for the long run.
  • Disable automatic everything, that requires a radio (cellular or wi-fi).
  • Disable all automatic app updates. You'll still be told when they become available and you can update when best for you.
  • Check the Menu button for options on all your applications. Many apps have quite a few options that can be turned off or on to save juice.
  • Ditch most or all of the screen widgets. If you can't ditch them, check their settings to make sure they aren't grabbing data too often. Weather more than once a day? etc.
  • Under Wi-Fi settings, Turn off Network Notifications,
  • Under Wi-Fi settings, AT&T WiFi Hotspot Settings, Turn off Auto Connect. Remember to turn this on, if you need hi-speed while at a free wi-fi spot.
  • Under Wi-Fi settings, menu, Advanced, WiFi Sleep Policy, set the sleep policy to "Never when plugged in" or "When screen turns off".
  • Under Sound, use as much silence as much as possible, also keep the haptic feedback off or reduced to perceptable levels (it's a motor).
  • Under Display, select Auto-Brightness, No animations, Loiw screen timeout, Low or "dark only" Key Light duration. Auto adjust screen power.
  • Under Power Saving Mode, I've got it turned off. Your mileage may vary and you may get even better results...Havent really explored this yet.
  • Under Location and security, Select wireless networks on and User GPS off. Revise only when you need to get accuracy or are out of cell reception. Turn off tactile feedback.
  • Under applications, select Running Services. Shutdown, Disable, Freeze or uninstall as many of these as you can.
  • Under Battery Usage, click the battery graph just beneath the status bar. You want as much green phone signal as you can (dependent on your location). The Next three bars (Wi-Fi, Awake, Screen-On) should be as black as possible. Awake tells you how much time the CPU is not sleeping, which is wasting power.
  • Under Accounts and Sync, Background Data ON and Auto-Sync off. I'm getting corporate mail via exchange, realtime without issues. Google mail, comcast and hotmail are all syncing once per day I think.
  • Everything under Motion is turned off.

Apps I've got Currently Frozen under Titanium Backup:
  • Accuweather.com
  • AP Mobile
  • AT&T Hotspots and Navigator
  • Buddies Now
  • City ID
  • Days 1.0
  • DRM Content, Launcher and Protected (I have no DRM music), Pandora still works
  • Dual Clock 1.0
  • Faceboook (not from my phone)
  • Featured Apps
  • Kobo
  • Lets Try Panning
  • Live TV
  • Media Hub
  • Mini Diary
  • My AT&T
  • Ocean Weather
  • Press Reader
  • All 6 SNS apps
  • Both Social Hubs
  • Swype (using TouchPal)
  • Terminal Emulator
  • Tethering Manager (not tethering)
  • Yahoo Finance
  • You tube
  • Zinio Reader

I'm sure there are quite a few other settings that can be tweaked, but I've only had the phone since 10/2 launch.

Root when you can, it's fairly straightforward. Uninstall the bloatware. Many lists on this site to identify the items safe to remove.

I'm up to about 24 hours from last charge now and everything still functions.
My signal at home is weak / non-existent to boot.

Give these settings a try.
I can also recommend Better Battery Stats, and Battery Monitor Widget Pro.

I could not imagine I'd be the last.
Now I are one.

The steps above got me to the 19-20 hour mark with no phone usage andx light system usage.

Trying Juice Defender now and reached 24 hours to 5%. Wi-Fi on 50% of the time.
I'll see if I can snap a picture of the graph.

Hope this helps others....

Actually sicne I followed your device, calibrated my battery, flashed entropy's latest 21st Exp kernel and the serendipity 8 rom
my phone last for 32-38 hrs with moderate to heavy usage and I couldn't be happier. I posted a graph screenie in another thread, I'll try to find it and link it here.

Seems as though you haven't let it collect stats long enough. Post it again after a couple of hours. And why does your bluetooth stay on? Are you experiencing excessive drain?
