Default Optional NFC ?

Today I met samsung representative in CPW, who told me that there's no NFC option for galaxy note but it may differ in other countries.

That would alright if it wasn't for engadget article, which clearly states that there's NFC controller inside (NFC controller: NXP PN544).

Does anyone have an idea if it would be possible to use NFC technology if the controller is already inside the device(assuming we'll get ICS)?

That engadget found nfc informations in the firmware does not mean the chip actually is inside the device. Could be available just in another regio...

Supercurio does not have the phone.

If the Note does have an NFC chip, wouldn't it be listed in the spec sheet of the user manual? Can someone verify this?

Yep, samsung stripping nfc from another device because " the market in europe isn't ready for nfc". I'm pretty sure the market would grow considerably if you started putting NFC on your devices since most people will go for a 20 month + contract...

No NFC here either even for the prototypes on display (which didn't have the S-Pen even though its listed on the spec sheet.
