Getting it booting is not the problem, Dread's already done that. Getting the touchscreen to work is the real challenge. You can see from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1309854 that not even the OP of that guide has gotten the touchscreen to work. Maybe someone could try porting the fully working ICS ROM that they have posted in the Nexus S forums to our Shifts..

If you look in system/urs/idc you will see qwerty.idc and qwerty2.idc. You can trash them and replace them with the right idc file the touch will work. This is how XDA Recognized Developer imilka was able to fix it for the HD2. I got a port I am working on for the HD2 and this got the touch working 100% for me. I am about to look for the right file for the Sensation so I can start a port for it.

That's what were looking for, the right idc for the evo shift. We know it uses atmel-touchscreen. I've tried an idc I found in a sense 2.1 stock rooted rom (synaptics-rmi-touchscreen.idc) but that didn't work. Tried renaming it (atmel-touchscreen.idc, atmel-ts.idc, synaptics-rmi-touchscreen, htcspeedy-touchscreen.idc and tons of other variants) but nothing. If by any chance you know of the idc or can help us find it, that would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah the rumor (based on something Google said) is that within 2 weeks of the Galaxy Nexus release, we'll have ICS source.

Once google releases the full source code the sdk ports should be a lot easier.
