[Q] Verizon Eris w/cricket - rom w/o carrier IQ

I have my Eris rooted and flashed to cricket and was hoping to find some help on upgradeing it to the best options out there with a2sd. Just installed new sd cl10 8GB formated main p,ext2,swapfile.

(Q) any rom without carrier IQ?
(Q) Looking for the best rom with overclocked cpu etc. (opinion) and easiest (user friendly) options out there? (Recommended from past user experiences) as so much new things pop up but have not been able to locate it.
(Q) if flash new rom will I loose my settings for cricket?

Everything I've been reading is pretty old (1year or more) lot of them having all kinds of issues along with being fairly old, whats the latest and greatest along with any other info would be so helpful. I'd like to do it once and make it easy as possible and learn from someone elses mistakes rather than my own.
