currently working on last steps on the contacts/phone app ... beside that i updated some nice things on the basic system:

- backported font configuration from ICS to /etc/font_config.xml (allows users to set other fonts via a config file rather than to hack the system)
- backported better ninepatch graphics from ICS
- default font is now Roboto from ICS

the next year i modify the launcher and the setings to so it looks more like ICS :)

... and ... screens from system are coming tomorrow or the next days.

Andy, let me say this after staying with your rom for 2 months, I say it's great even with the bugs that are present. Can't wait for your next release! :)

why it is so difficult to understand: THE P500 DOESNT SUPPORT HW ACCELERATION! :D

... anyway, thanks for looking for solutions :)

i have understood that the P500 doesnt support hw acceleration..
But still, there are hopes that we can get it to work with dedication and hardwork... thats all... ;)

Hey Andy & others!
Like many other users I'm waiting for a usable ics rom. I thought I could do two things: keep breaking balls to rom developers asking for ETAs or do something else. I chose to do something else, and here is the something else! I noticed the calculator in ics has changed. I've never found the stock calculator great because of some kind of delay (I don't know how to explain it) when pressing the buttons. So I decided to port (not theme, although I don't really know the differences in the code because I don't have the gb calculator code) the ics calculator which has a viewpager (like the android market) to switch between base and advanced panel. I think this might interests you, I'll upload the sources when I'll finish to fix some little bugs if you are interested (probably tomorrow, but I'm not sure). Here are two screenshots!

I'm glad you can do it, but I don't see any difference in these to calculators... I have the O1 and GN so I can compare

No real difference...

Greets!

Yes, there aren't big differences. The main is the way to switch panel, the gb calculator use a gesture overlay and the ics calculator a viewpager.

hey andy, a while ago i saw this on the cyanogenmod website:

Everybody with access to a web browser over the last week or so has undoubtedly seen the recent upheaval about Carrier IQ. The truth is, Carrier IQ has been around for quite some time. It is one of the nastier examples of bloatware installed by carriers, and it is more than likely something that will always be there in some form or fashion. That is, as long as your phone is running the OEM provided version of Android.

As this version of Android is based entirely on work from the Android Open Source Project, the CyanogenMod team would like to assure everyone that Carrier IQ has never, and will never be a part of our Operating System. There is no risk of this kind of software to ever be shipped as a part of CyanogenMod, period. Please, take it upon yourselves to educate anyone who is concerned about Carrier IQ, and offer them CyanogenMod as the only real opt-out they are likely to get any time soon.

just out of curiosity (and for the sake of my privacy), phoenix doesn't have carrier iq right?

Sorry for the off-topic Andy, you can delete the post if you want but for the sake of not dragging this thread too much about this:
just out of curiosity (and for the sake of my privacy), phoenix doesn't have carrier iq right?
The answer is... Obviously not! :D
Those who actually bothered reading said article about the CIQ, could have at least read it until the very end because it says there (and it was very well mentioned by "InfiniteRisen") that CIQ is NOT part of the AOSP and therefore no ROM based on it would have the CIQ.
It's mostly present on factory roms or carrier roms, whom "tweak" the AOSP Roms according to their specs and then release them.

About this... there is the "TestLogin" app on the market or here somewhere... sorry I don't recall who the dev is but... this app can detect if ROMs have the CIQ running!

    here a short announcement:

the next release will be increased in Android version, i have imported all
libs and java files so we can enjoy new apps from market based on newer
versions - there will be now actual 2.3.7
the new libs fixed some bugs like misplaced icons/fonts in statusbar when in
landscape mode, usb tethering is working too and now i concentrate for
    some more bug fixes.

    why this action?
i thought i can stay on Android 2.3.4 and have only to patch some things
when a bug fix was released from google/caf or CM ... i have to say, its not
the best way to develop stable software - as we can see, developing of
android goes really fast, month by month ... so we (here on XDA) should
follow the developent state of android so users can enjoy all things what
    android have.

Please do not ask when i release the rom, i write it here, on my blog and on facebook.

    stay tuned!
    Andy

As i wrote, today users get some new screenshots from my big gingerbread mod :D

    next steps:
    - try to get contact pictures from system bigger in size than 32 pixels (maybe this
can be generated when the users modify a contact picture)
    - implement current contact picture in QuickContact dialog

next mod steps in contacts app:
    - re-layout the contact detail activity and show the call history in this item
    - remove the contact list from tab view and show the favorites instead
    - re-layout favorites activity as seen in ICS

all these steps i try to have done until x-mas so i can after x-mas fix some bugs in the system.

    #### EDIT
W.T.F.: it is unthinkable, if i want a bigger size from a contact image, it looks blurry ... why? google isnt fixing
a 2 (!!!) yers old bug with google contact sync :( read here for your self: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=5046#c146
so i think, the Quickcontact dialog and phone calls will still have blurry pictures *aaarrrggghhhhh* :(

    Q. Why i having battery drains?
    A. If you want save your battery, dunt use the phone... JOKE! Lower down your brightness and use the data/3G/WIFI whenever when you wanna use... And being a portable charger which you can use... Eg. MILI Portable Charger...

    Q. Where can i get back CM stuffs?
    A. Andy has actually modified the code in the second released, so his has modified it and T-Mobile theme chooser wont work anymore.

LAST QUESTION ABOVE THIS... READ THIS!!!

    You have to wipe ALL:
    - if your new rom version is different from previous, even gingerbread gingerbread, as example you change from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4 or to 2.3.5
    - if youre coming from froyo and go to gingerbread or vice versa

You have to wipe cache/dalvik only
    - if you change between same versions of gingerbread, as example you're coming from 2.3.4 and switch to another 2.3.4

You have to wipe even ALL
    - if you're coming from mik's 2.3.x or any another rom and would like to change to Andy's Phoenix 2.3.4 because it's different API code

Ok, a next part is ready and working:

The screen shows your favorites from contacts in the Top of the activity as a horizontal
scrollable list ordered by the contact name, if you tap a contact you open the contact details - there you can trigger
all actions like calling, mailing or writing sms.

the content below shows you suggestions for frequently used contacts, with a tap on
this contact you open the contact details too.
