You're a moron, that's all.

Bast, thanks for answering. Clearly the app isn't WORTH MY TIME, a concept couchmonkey clearly couldn't understand.

Bast, thank you for taking the time to write this up. It's an excellent resource for people who are camera illiterate such as myself. It makes it easier to understand all the bells and whistles on this great camera.

Question Does this correct color issues with video and what about call quality?

Thanks for the great post about taking photos with the Rez. I was ready to upgrade to the Rez a few weeks ago, but decided to wait until I saw the Nexus. After being completely disappointed with the Nex, I am back to considering the Rez, but have a couple of concerns based on my research. The first is the quality of photos and videos, most notably the cool / bluish colors. Here is a video that seems to confirm this issue:

[Please search for "Video Test: Galaxy Nexus vs iPhone 4S vs Galaxy S II vs HTC Rezound" on YouTube, as I can't post URLs since I am a nooby]

Would your tips about adjustments and using an app adequately address this issue in your opinion / experience - for both photos and videos?

The only other issue that I have concern with is call quality. Since above all, the primary purpose for the device is a phone, I am concerned considering how many reviewers have cited this problem. What has your experience been in that regard?

Thanks in advance for your response.

I think you should search other posts or start a new thread about this topic. This is such a great resource about the camera, it would be sad if it turned into a call quality thread now.

Default Keeping on topic

Point taken feralicious. Please disregard my inquiry related to call quality. I would appreciate responses in regards to the cool/bluish colors of photos and video taken by the Rez.

any tinting of photos is going to be related to white balance. for instance, the rez has a very bad habit of casting and orangeish tint and over saturating indoor photos lit by incanndescent light, if you leave white balance on auto. having the white balance set to incandescent or fluorescent when you are not under that type of lighting, conversely, can cause a bluish or purplish tint.

using the appropriate white balance is key. I do not notice any bluish tint if I take an outdoor, daylight photo with the auto white balance setting. Bear in mind, the LED flash can also cast a light bluish tint on subjects. That is the fault of the flash, not the camera or settings.

Oh, and call quality has been fantastic for me

Great post. I've had some good success with getting color/exposure right, but noise is still a problem. Even outdoors. I turned down sharpness to -2 and that definitely helped!

great post about camera quality.

I don't like messing with exposure in advance - I find that the "cinnamon" effect which can be applied post-photo in the stock camera app works great, and that the special cameras (camerafx) have some great post-processing filters as well.

stock photo is amazing, and in the dark with the flash is flawless - better than even a great point and shoot camera. post processing will easily fix overexposure or under, and that's about the only thing this camera has a hard time with.
