Glad the system/app worked for you dragn. :).

Ubermario I believe the root process will be the same on any version of superoneclick. I've came across another way of rooting on another forum. You might want to google that.

As for gaining access to bootloader I've yet to figure this out. I've tried using root booter to boot into it, phone reboots and stays stuck on lg logo. Also I know on the mytouch q to do a hard factory reset we have to hold power and volume along with the a and f keys.

I think we will need to use the keyboard to gain access to bootloader on the Q.

You should use superclick 2.2 because 2.3 doesnt work without the adb commands as stated on the first post so might as well stick with a surefire solution. Secondly, i tried to boot into the bootloader by sending the bootloader command using adb on the computer. i did that and it rebooted the phone to a state where it stayed on a black screen...

Also finding out how to boot into bootloader will be great. We can find out if we have S-OFF or S-ON (I assume S-OFF since we can delete things in system/app freely). Usually, you can boot into bootloader by powering down and then turning it on via power and back arrow. Maybe use one of those reboot apps and tell it to reboot into bootloader.

Ok. Thanks.

What apps are safe to remove? A list would be nice for newcomers.

Also I did a little testing with multitouch visualizer. My past few phones had trouble with 2 fingers at the same time but this phone can do 3 with no problems and it gets a little wonky at 4 but still WWWWAAAYYYY better than my previous phones.

In post 38, I've made a list of apps you CAN remove so far and I haven't had a stability issue yet.

Furthermore, DO NOT remove the app "LiveSource." When I removed this app, I have an issue where if someone were to call me when my phone screen is off, I don't receive the call at all. The call goes through as if it would normally ring, but my phone does not react.

As a result, I'm unsure whether I should remove the following
Cozi-tab-tmobile
ECID-release
MobileBackup

If you guys try this and have no issues, please let me know.

Additionally, I would NOT recommend removing any of these following apps
LGHomeScreenTip
LGSetupWizard
LGTutorialsFAQ

When I removed those three (once again I'm not sure which one is causing the problem) every time I restart my phone, when the phone loads up, it gives a com.phone.android error. Furthermore, after I did a full factory reset, I would have an issue of the android OS ALWAYS reinstalling itself every time I reboot the phone.

So if you guys plan to try to remove any of those apps one at a time and test it and you don't have an issue with it, please post and keep me updated so I will update my post accordingly.

Successfully rooted. Used Root Explorer and SetCPU. In your previous post, you said you were going to try to freeze the other apps that can't be removed. What were your results?

For some reason, I cannot get data to work. What is the correct APN for T-Mobile. I do have a data plan in case anyone was wondering

I was using titanium backup to freeze the apps, however, I guess it was having issues freezing the LiveSource (I'm guessing because it was a crucial app) and so it just got stuck and went haywire. As a result, I just decided to delete apps instead of freezing them.

DONATE TO ME
Unhappy Noobie Rooter mistake

So guys i really need some help. i rooted my phone and got uninstall happy. the phone worked fine until i tried to do a system update then all &#@$ broke loose and com.android.phone started force closing. i was rooted and using the phone for about two weeks. so i factory reset and then i got the black screen. so i used the mic with button trick to get my gmail account on and got a launcher which fixed the problem. but then i tried to push the system apps back into the phone using someone's backups but i fear that i've ruined the OS even more seeing as he was using a myTouch Q. i have the non-keyboard myTouch. After facroty reseting to try and fix the inital problem now i get endless FCs.

can anyone with the E739 do a system dump/copy that i can test? well now i'm not even sure if i'll even be able to use it but giving people a fall back would be nice. I would also like to help getting the LG myTouch it's own division
