I too have just got the Ray. I was looking for a small and powerful android phone. (got my fingers burned with BADA - ugh... never again)
With its 854x480 screen, powerful 1ghz processor and brilliant GPS I have exactly what I'm looking for in a phone - enormous bang in a small package.
I'd be a little wary of the mini pro as it has an unusual screen size. It's probably brilliant as a communications device but then I'm the sort that likes my phone to do as much as possible in one box. Couple that with a good keyboard such as Swiftkey X or one of the HTC style keyboards and you're good to go.
