Hello folks. Just a newbie question: What is exactly meant by STOCK firmware?
You know that if you root your device and install a custom ROM then you will most probably lose your warranty right? So if for some reason I want to send my phone for repair, and if I flash it with one of these stock ROM would it look like as it hasn't been tampered with? I.e would it bring it to the original ROM?
... exact steps how to revert back the phone to factory condition as it was before rooting and installing ClockworkMod?
I myself would do it more or less this way:

A little more exact: get the most recent stock rom which corresponds to my device (AUT -> Switzerland), flash it with Windows ODIN and in the process reformat and completely wipe clean the device. The outcome will be a completely blank device looking as if it is taken out the box the first time. Like a boss

As can be deducted from the part just above: unaltered, unchanged, not tempered with original Samsung originating firmware making your device truely "original". The car comparison is always lame, but fits, once more Whats the difference between a tuned and a stock car. The same as it is between a custom flashed and stock phone. And yes, tampering with the device is not allowed, hence you lose warranty (except you can go back to stock before handing it in in case of a warranty claim).

Correct. This results in an image file, a complete 1-to-1 copy of your filesystem. When restoring such a backup, you effectively jump back in to the exact moment when you did the backup.

Can anyone tell me why I often have problems downloading from Hotfile? The message is "You are currently downloading...Free users are allowed to only one parallel download". But in my PC's download folder, I don't see the file being downloaded. I've tried Chrome and IE8.
Other file sharing sites are also problematic for me (e.g. opening up ads but no download link) and only Mediafire seems to work the best.
Hello I have installed rom N7000XXKL7 and now I can't root my phone, and because I heave non rooted phone I can't use a mobile odin.
I must first flash older rom with PC odin? Is this correct.
Thx in advance
yes first flash with any earlier version of Stock rom with PC odin (remember only stock), then Roon n CWM. Install mobile odin Pro, n flash lastly KL7/8

Is it just a case of selecting the md5 using the open file option and then flashing?
