Can you share how you dumped your ROM? I am interested in cooking for the IPAQ 510 series, but I couldn't seem to get the stuff working.... Aside from the itsutils, what other tools worked for the IPAQ?

I have tried cooking for a couple of PPCs like the Himalaya/Atom/Hermes/Trinity, but I guess the SP is another game. Something to explore about...

I was trying to look at universal iPaq rom loader, which loads a ROM in its unencrypted form to most iPaqs... (haven't tried this though.... will experiment on this.)

Okay I managed to dump the ipaq 512: Asian English edition from my SP. Somehow, the SDA_unlock.exe application fucked up either my Radio ROM or my bootloader because now I couldn't send SMS or even dial out. BUT it works with other SIM from other operator network.

Anybody care to share an ipaq 514 ROM dump from device? you can upload to www.mediafire.com - it's free.

Man, you NEVER can do firmware for iPaq 514. You don`t understand what you do ...
(Original manufacturer of Ipaq 514 is CMCS. All module inside firmware encrypted by Rijndael algorithm, and is no way to use universal iPaq rom loader)

PS. SDA_unlock can`t fucked up either Radio ROM or bootloader because is only modified registry.

Does this mean that is not possible to make coocked rom for ipaq 514?

Of course the update nbf file is encrypted, but the modules in the wince device is still the same. Otherwise, we couldn't dump it in the first place. I was thinking of using the Universal iPaq ROM loader to upload the already cooked ROM and not the encrypted file. We need an alternate method to flash the device unless someone is kind enough to write an NBF encrypter-decrypter for this device. It's the only tool missing, then we could enjoy cooked ROMs for this device as well. Oh, we need to CID unlock devices as well; so, other users from different places can enjoy this.

Of course it's possible. We just need the tools to do it. Cooking the ROM is not the problem. Putting the cooked ROM to the device IS.

The usual way of flashing your device is to use the RUU from HP, BUT it requires the development of an NBF tool to translate the cooked ROM for flashing.

Another way is flashing mtty.... BUT the ipaq in bootloader mode can't seem to connect.

Another way is pdocwrite, but this will be device specific...

We need to explore the options...
