My original is dated 2010.06.30 s/n AA1Z630xS/5-B.

Like perosredo said, it could be a batch number. I have some more investigating to do.

mobilecityonline.com replied saying their batteries are genuine OEM and to call Samsung and ask them about the way they serialize their batteries. I was going to do that today during my lunch break.

After a week's usage the 1800 mah definitely shows about 20% improvement in life compare to stock which was 3 months old. If this is fake, then fake manufactures have definitely caught up in cramping more mah in to small form factor!! Only the life with respect to number of recharge cycles is the question remaining.

Got my battery from mobile city earlier today and it definitely has held up alot better than my 1500 mah battery

Used my epic 4g touch battery in my vibrant while I waited for my Refurb replacement. Definitely has a longer life as I was able to get through the work day without charging

Would like to thank you sir for the question and posts regarding the larger battery. I got mine and it vastly improved my time on my Captivate.. Happy Owner now.
