Sam.. I have the Fruit Cake maker, but have to pull it from the thread. I have my LCD Density set to 216 and the market version says not compatible. Don't know if you can change anything to allow, or if that would cause other non-compatible phones to be able to pull. Just thought I would let you know. Love the maker though. Thank yoiu!

i have no freaking idea what you just said! fruit cake maker does not look at your screen density, and i tested it to be compatible with all curent roms and rom bases.

nvm... A lot of apps would tell me not compatible with my device. Since my LCD density was set to 216 in my build.prop. If I changed back to the stock density of 240 I would be able to pull the apps. However, when I changed back to stock 240 it still would not let me pull. Cleared out market data and was able to pull with no problems. Thanks Sam... Love the app!

Ok i saw quite a few comments about not working for cm7 so i thought i would ask a question here about it.

1. I was able to get the app to do its thing( on the i777 running cm7) just by editing the build.prop from galaxys2att to SGH-I777 and it created the update.zip. i havent tested it yet though.

So basically IF it worked from what i can tell with JUST changing the build.prop is it possible to add/change something so it recognizes cm7 build names also? (ie: galaxys2att)

I will be shorly testing out the update.zip it created so i will edit this post if it worked or not.

Will FCM still work if I rename my updates jsut by right clicking and renaming?

I know that sounds stoopid... but I once renamed one of my backups to be easily understandable by me... and when I went to go use it, it told me that the MD5 did not match..

I just want to be sure. sorry.

Would there be a way to create an application to automate the process of:
--> extract .img-images (e.g. boot, system, webtop) from moto .sbf (like MotoAndroidDepacker)
--> take extracted .img-files and create update.zip-fruitcakes?

I've got a similar question, is a fruit cake made from this another way to make/flash a backup? As opposed to a nandroid backup?

For instance, I'm on darkside, if I maker a fruit cake, flash wet dream, then want to go back to darkside, will wiping and flashing the fruit cake restore my entire ds rom/setup?

No, this only backs up the system and boot images, not the data

1.6 - The update that took a month. Will be release today. This will be amazing. I'm just waiting on testers.

Advance Mode
Apps Mode
Back Up Mode

New look

Open Source components

New site, new forums, new devices.

The update will be made available late tonight or early tomorrow. Depends on how tire I am after i get off work.

We are alive and kicking. Since release, Fruit Cake Maker has been downloaded 1,956 times. We are 556 active developers. A total of 12 bugs have been crushed. We currently work on 20+ devices and devices variants.

Nightlys and experimental.

Starting Feb 1st or 2nd. My build bot will begin auto compiling nightlys for those who want to experiment with the latest changes. Nightlys will be compile each night and made available no later than midnight.

An experimental build will begin to be compile mid Feb. the build will be compile every friday at 6pm. The experimental build will feture a different preference screen, and will require the user to specify all the variables. ie: boot location, system location, storage, mode. so on. This build aims at enthusiast who wish to use the tool on a non supported device.

FCM now has requirements. Busybox must be installed to use the back up mode.

Thank guys for your support.

    F.A.Q.
    What is ROM Factory?
Its a tool that will allow the user to create a picture perfect .img from your boot and system partition. It will then create an update.zip from it.
    What is a "Fruit Cake"?
A fruit cake is the finish product, a self contain rom, already ready for installation, already inside an update.zip.
So really what does it do?
It allows a bootloader unlocked user to create a full copy of their boot and system partition. All of it, including mods and changes done to either one of those partitions.
Can this be use for easier rom development?
Yes! Beyond just its normal capabilities! After installing the resources you can modify the script and add things to it in *sdcard* /fcm/workdir! Once you are done adding and changing things in there, press "Create ROM".
