CWM tries to flash the CF Root kernel, but then goes back to the menu with no errors. When I reboot, the stock kernel is still in place.

Is this something to do with CWM not working properly with the stock kernel on ICS, and does anyone know another way of banishing the yellow triangle?

I'll look into this... in the mean time, use Mobile ODIN (there's a free lite version) maybe to flash kernel.

LPB root kernel doesnt seem to be working

XXLPB Root Kernel causes errors.

Flashed XXLPB ROM in ODIN.
Rebooted
Setup
Reboot into Download Mode
Flash CF Root XXLPB
Reboot
Apps on SD Card (like the game Spirit) are reported as "not installed" anymore
If I try to reinstall them from the market, I get an error with writing to SD Card

Aw, I want to have root

Ive fixed "half-root" on my phone (LPB) by:

installed stock LPB firmware via odin
installed cf-root via odin
opened superuser and updated to same version as installed

now have full-root without problems..

hope this helps for others, if not, delete my post

I had to use mobile Odin way to get root on my LPB.
