Default AT&T Tilt & BB Connect question

I am considering getting the Tilt with AT&T as I'm tired of my Pearl & the lack of features and web browsing.
We are running BES small enterprise 4.0 (15 user CAL or less) and everyone has Blackberries. As the IT administrator, I would like to switch to the TILT without having to switch all the other users off their BBs as they love them and it would cost us too much $$ to replace all devices.

My concern is running the 2 different types of devices from our BES. Do I have to install anything on the BES server for the TILT to receive my emails, calendar, contacts, etc? I would prefer not to as I don't want to run any chance of a problem between the BES & the other devices or my TILT. Anyone report any problems with a TILT on the BES server?

I understand I will have to install BB Connect on the TILT and the desktop software on my workstation to generate the PIN for the TILT, but is that it?

Any insight is appreciated!

I am the only person in a 25000 employee company running BB Connect on Windows Mobile. I work fine. I had them reset me when I want from hermes (8525) to Kaiser (Tilt). I did over the air activation once but it gave me trouble, so I use the desktop client...just reinstalled ROM yesterday, no issues.
Proud of being banned on HoFo for calling iTunes "Diarrheaware"

Dutty's 6.1
ATT Tilt (HTC TyTn II, HTC Kaiser)

How is the speed of the device. Last time I installed BBC it really slowed mine down. Also when using BBC can you use the wifi connection if you are in an area with no cell signal?
Thanks,

I know that we can do this with the standard settings (if we don't use BBC), check email every X number of minutes. If I use this option, I get charged for the GPRS data that I use, but I get SUBSTANTIALLY more battery life than when I use BBC as BBC is always connected.

Also, does anyone know if we can use the BBC settings to send MMS messages instead of using the carrier's GPRS settings? How about getting the WX module to use the BBC settings also? It is a pain to have BBC kicked offline every time I want to get the WX update or send an MMS.

Thanks in advance.

No. The BES server is set to poll your email server at intervals specified by your administrator. If email is there is comes down. This works quite well and I don't see a need to setup or use a timed replication even if it were available.

Maybe in some non-US countries where unlimited data plans are not available?

While this would be nice if you are going through a corporate BES server you might end up running into policy restrictions that would block MMS like we do at my company.

Access through the BES server is administratively controlled which would include what internet sites you could access. It also seems that you cannot select the Blackberry connection for any other application but if someone figures out how I'd be interested too.
