The Photon 4G AIO root v2/v3 are a much more simpler way to go about rooting. Start the program, plug in phone, go through the screens, and rooted.

Please donate with the "Donate to me" button on the top left of this post, if you are willing. I don't promise anything new in the future. It would just be a thank you for this hack.

Old thread, if you have problems with this

Ok, I know this is a really old post, but I just wanted to say thanks to both edgan for the method and cornelious2 for the extra instructions (quoted) -- I have a mac, so having this method to do everything from the phone was awesome! Thanks!

What's really nice is, if you Lose Root all you need to run is.

/data/tmp/photon-torpedo.sh
/data/tmp/install-su.sh

Which is what I had to do today.
Screwed by Google. Canceled ICS upgrade on my Moto Photon 4G. and No Update for Photon Q for Kit Kat.

Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE - CM 11.0 M8 - On ting.com - only Pay for what you GET.
Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Kit Kat, Stock rooted, twrp recovery. "too new for ting"
Nexus 7 2012 Kit Kat, Stock rooted, twrp recovery.

Retired, Kids Toys, Gave Away &/or Bricked; HTC G1, Samsung Moment, 2 Photon 4G's, Samsung Nexus S 4G, Kindle Fire.
