Try using luckypatcher and you'll see.
Root is there but it is not complete. Some functionality is lost.
Still... appquarantine does work, droidwall also so not all is lost.
Anyway, great work and elegant solution to keep the yellow triangle away.

If I'm already rooted with CF-Root and I want to use this to fix the SD problem, can I just flash the stock kernel and then use these files to keep root and busybox and CWM recovery?
PHONE: Samsung Galaxy S III GT-I9300
ROM: [GT-I9300[JB][4.2.2] CyanogenMod 10.1 official nightlies
RADIO: XXEMC2
KERNEL: Temasek Kernel
RECOVERY: [PhilZ Touch][I9300] v 5.03.0 Touch Enhanced CWM 6.0.3.2

STATUS: Flashing Addict!

It's better to click "THANKS" than to say it!

Thanks!!!
You sir are great, it is working as it should now.
One Little, Tiny problem, every time I reboot to recovery I get stock recovery and not the CWM installed through your patch, HOW COME??

Is there anyway to get to that CWM recovery or does it reset on each boot??
What you see here is...
The rambling verses of a bored man who decided he should have a signature but didn't know what
to sign so he just sat there at his computer writing whatever came to his mind and as a result...
...now you know you should have stopped reading a long time ago, don't you??

PS: a simple Thank You does wonderful things, so hit the damn button.

When I "flash" it from stock recovery, it's volatile, reboot and it's gone. Is that expected?

The recovery IS NOT persistent.

So you'll either have to flash a new kernel/recovery via ODIN (PC) or Mobile ODIN.
USE the Search Function BEFORE posting.

Mobile Odin will be best choice as does not increase flash counter.

Simple way to root and unroot stock kernel without flashing insecure kernel.

Rooting
  • Download this File first and put in your SDCARD
    - CWM via stock recovery or download zip from http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
    - SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
  • Reboot to recovery.
  • Choose apply update from external storage.
  • Choose CWM.zip and wait until CWM recovery appear.
  • Choose install zip from sdcard or external SD
  • Choose and Install SU-Busybox-Installer.zip
  • Reboot
  • You are done and now your device is Rooted

Unroot

Tested on stock 4.0.3 LPH rom.

Mirror:

Finally Finally . we found the good solution for rooting phone without flash unsecure kernel ..

Thank you very much . it working like charm ..

Can you please change your instructions to " CWM.zip & SU files to External SDCARD" becoz internal sdcard not showing in recovery mode.

What would be the files to flash to retain root and secure storage and still have a permanent custom recovery??
