NON-OC Kernel

OC Kernel

These .zips are unmodified from the ones in the OP. So the MD5 sum from the OP should work

Google Maps/Navigation Random Reboots
Just came back from a long road trip, where i used the optimus v with bumblebee as a gps. unfortunately, the phone would reboot randomly several times when using navigation. Is anyone also experiencing this problem and/or know of a fix?

thanks in advance

-Was the phone overclocked?

-Were you using Google Maps or Navigation? I ask because I think Navigation is still in Beta.

Not overclocked unless the Tom came overclocked

Navigation not maps.

Any thoughts?

Yes.

this is the descriptions of the ROM and the Kernel that starts about 1/2 way through the initial post.

"Includes the Bumblebee Kernel (see below). Overclocked to 768 by default with the interactive governor (480 min, 768 max). No need for SetCPU or No Frills CPU Control, but you can use them to overclock even higher and/or set a different governor and range. If you get reboots, back off on the CPU settings, or install the non-overclocked kernel (see above) and gradually increase speed."

AND

"Overclocked. Default on boot is 480-768/interactive, but this can be changed with SetCPU, or the built-in No Fills CPU Control, to any value (valid range is 122-864). Get SetCPU from the market (donate version), or see this thread to download it free for XDA forum members (posted by the dev):
SetCPU for Root Users

Stability at the high-end values depends entirely on individual batches of CPUs. A stable max value for the V can be anywhere from 787 to 824 or higher, it just depends on the unique qualities of the batch your individual CPU came from. "

So my guess is that you might wanna get an APP to throttle the CPU back a bit. Personally I installed the Non-Overclocked kernel that he provides in the OP. Then I use SetCPU / PimpMyCPU to manage the speed. That should get you started in the right direction.

In case you have a problem getting Google Play 3.4.7 to install on your Bumblebee, here's how I got it to install on my LG VM670/Bumblebee.

fatchick's Google Play Install

And here is the Google Play 3.4.7 APK that I used.

Google Play 3.4.7
