Default Bad Ebay Seller of High Capacity Batts

Hello,

just thought I'd write to tell of my experience with an extended battery for the nexus s. But the seller does have other ones for sale.
It's not the mugen ones but one I found on Ebay from the UK.
I tried to purchase this battery (Item number: 190570093799 ) from a seller named, e_cell.

Back then, the price for the battery was $21 (CAD) and it purported to be a high capacity battery that is the same size as the original. I purchased it and waited. It was a fairly new item and I was the 6th person to purchase one (they were the only ones with this item on ebay.)
I waited for over a month and nothing arrived and that's when I started to see the reviews come in for the battery. People stating that it doesn't hold a charge and that it actually is a smaller capacity battery than the original.

I messaged them and they told me to keep waiting until finally they said they would send out another one. I told them to expedite it and give me a tracking number, which they didn't do the first time, because I would be sending it to ebay resolutions if it did not arrive in 2 weeks.
They said they couldn't do that because they already sent it out and that I shouldn't worry because it will arrive within 2 weeks.

I opened a case and they told me to wait again. Obviously, nothing came. They decided to escalate the case to try and win the case. They didn't have a tracking number so I won. They then decided to send me an email saying, "since we decided to refund your money, can you reverse the negative feedback?" And, "Should the item arrive, please kindly send it back to us."

B.S nothing's coming, it's been over a month and a half.
Lol, if they decided to refund my money, they could have done so when I opened my case instead of trying to escalate it and get ebay to make the final decision.

From what I can gather, that seller has multiple handles with slight variations: e_cell, ecellaccessories, etelluk, etc. And I think he buys from himself to boost his ratings and feedback score.

Oh, and now he's selling the item for 200 dollars. I guess he thinks because he's the only seller of the high cap nexus s battery, he can raise the price in hopes to sucker buyers.

Hope this helps

Wish I read this sooner..
Similar experience. Still waiting... Now I know nothing is coming...
Might as open a case now.

I should have read more user reviews on ebay... Going through them now, this seller is all round bad news, people recieving the imitation phones from china when it's listed as the real thing...
Hopefully I will get my money back too.

I got this battery from e_cell (ebay), £12.99 inc postage, only had it a few days, first full charge over night and used yesterday on ics 4.0.3 the battery lasted 14h 37m and drained to 1% before I put it on charge again (overnight), screen on time was 4h 39m.

Today (second charge) and the battery at the moment is on 56% after 13h 3m and screen on time of 2h 1m. - {EDIT} - just going to bed now, battery at 42% after 15h 39m and screen on for 3h 32m.

Hopefully it seems pretty good at the moment, I'll try and keep you updated on how the battery holds up over the coming week/s.

Just hoping that it is worth it. battery took 8 days to be delivered, then again remember that's not amazingly bad since it is Christmas.

I've had very similar experience with these scammers - eCell. They are on Amazon as well!

Bought a "gold" 2430mAh battery, which turned out to last less than my 2-year old standard 1120mAh one.

When I made a big fuss through the Amazon email system and requested to return the item and get a full refund (I wasn't prepared to get a replacement), I was told that once I give these scumbags a "positive" feedback (through the Amazon system) they will refund my order in full and "as a gesture of goodwill" they would allow me to keep the battery I've just bought off them.

I responded back saying that once I get my refund - in full - I will then make a decision as to whether to leave them any feedback and if they do not agree with this and still need the battery back - that's also fine with me.

At the end I've got my refund - in full, kept the battery, but I did not leave them a positive feedback and instead referred the case - and all relevant correspondence - to the Trading Standards.

When I spoke to them I was told that they are aware of this (this company is apparently registered in Lancs) and I am not the only one scammed or "coerced" to do this, so I guess the matter is now in the hands of Trading Standards.

Hum, looking like I maybe lucky with this (at least the battery is working). I have no idea how the battery will fair over the coming weeks yet though.

I've done a few changes to the setup of ics on my nexus s, so when I've charged the battery a few more times over the next week I'll put the oem battery back in and test it upto the extended battery with my new setup.
