Default recommendations for .886--->.902 ?

I am on stock .886 with forever root, no other mods. Official System Updates says "Try again later." Should I try to apply the original .886->.893 patch and then follow this post? (I would do that now if I could find old instructions that I still trust) Or should I try the .893->.902 method since I am still on Stock? Thanks.

I rooted the phone. Ran root check and it showed rooted. Made to step 18 and got an backup data error. Wouldn't toggle into safe mode. Did the reboot system. Rebooted to a blank screen for over an hour. Pulled the battery and it restarted. It took me to the choose a language screen and I had to reset up the phone. Tried it again and the same thing has happened. It says I still have root but can't toggle the safe mode. I have 5MB on my internal memory free. Any ideas?

Hey cdu13, I'm sorry for the slow response, and I regret that you are having problems. I'd recommend contacting hashcode, the maker of safestrap. He's aware that there are occasional glitches, and your experience could be valuable for making improvements. Be sure to be polite, he's a busy dude (you seem nice enough to me...). There is a link to his website in the OP.

You can't use 893->902 method because you are on 886. If you can't do the over-the-air update, see if you can find the 886->893 update in the forums. Follow the same basic steps for applying the update, then go from 893->902.

Default Calendar Data

Hey guys,
Just got my phone updated to 902 and rooted using the Root Exploit found on Rootzwiki (big ups to timmy10shoes!)...question though.

Anyone know if I can restore my calendar data via Titanium Backup? I opened the calendar and have somehow lost a bunch of my recurring reminders and appointments and I'm not sure why. I thought that data was backed up to the Google cloud? My phone was wiped in this process so did that do it? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

Default ?

Ok, I have two questions. #1 and most pressing, after upgrading to 902 and rooting I can no longer boot into recovery. I am using ROM manager, when I choose the "reboot into recovery" option the phone just reboots. If I try to use stock recovery I just get the little android dude standing in front of a triangle with a exclamation point. #2, are there any ROMS that will work with the 902 upgrade? If not I guess my question #1 isn't so pressing! Thanks!

Answer to Question 1

Did you install Bionic BootStrap? If not, you need it.

Answer to Question 2

KIn3tx .901 compatible fix , Eclipse 2.1, and Liberty will work.

I'll put up links later

What about safestrap? The directions say not to have both @ the same time? Thanks!

Right. You need one or the other. If you had safestrap before, but lost it, just download the safestrap APK (see OP for link) and then click the "Install Recovery" button.

Safestrap has the occasional bug (see posts above) but overall I think its a better option than Bionic Bootstrap because you get that extra layer of safety.

Regarding 902 compatible apps, they are addressed in the OP.
