[Q] Please help ,advice Toshiba TG01

Gentle men ,
I recently purchased over Ebay the TOSHIBA TG01 PHONE.Now the phone is O2-Branded and German language windows mobile 6.5. I have read through the blogs and tried to down load various ROMS but the update never happens .I have tried the pin method but it just does not happen.The message I get is SSDL.EXE is invalid .
I believe the phone has already been upgraded to the Toshiba 6.5 ROM from the factory .Is there any way ,I can erase the rom. Does anyone have a link ? where I can down load 6.1 version of the windows .
Any help will be much much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

The steps to flash a ROM are as follows:

Installation:
1. Download and unzip the ROM
2. Copy SDDL+ to the root of your uSD Card
3. Create a directory \prg on the uSD Card
4. Copy the ROM .tsw file to uSDCard\prg
5. Run Sddl+ from \Storage Card
6. Further information is available here.

If you want to check out a ROM which should work without any issues (it's WM6.5) you could try the one in my signature - the download contains SDDL+.exe and the ROM file already in a \prg folder so all you have to do is copy across to the root of your uSD card and execute.

I've never tried a 6.1 image but I'm sure there are some on the site.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply .It is highly appreciated.However the problem with the ROM as I tried various of them ,is that the phone already came with a factory installation of WINDOWS 6.5 but in German.I did download the 6.5 version from the Toshiba website and tried a few other roms but it will just not happen
I will try the ROM with your signature and let you know.

I think the problem may be that you only have the SDDL.exe file supplied with the update ROM - it needs the modified version SDDL+.exe to work correctly with cooked ROMs.

If you D/L my ROM, you will find the .zip contains SDDL+.exe in the root and the ROM in a folder \prg . Just copy across to the root of your uSD card and then browse to the SDDL+.exe and doube tap to execute.

Hmmm - not sure why that should be - the .zip is on Rapidshare and should be OK. Anyway, here is just SDDL+.exe....
tg01_sddl+.zip

Remember - just unzip, place in the root of your uSD Card and the ROM you want to flash in the \prg and then execute SDDL+

Thank you very much .Using your SSDL+.exe and the orange rom downloaded from the Toshiba Europe website .The update took place and the German version has been successfully updated to a complete English version phone.

The Toshiba support site is still alive, but it's somewhat hidden - try here:

You do need an appropriate IMEI number to input though to be able to DL the required language version.

A good search on the Forum may provide an alternative - otherwise I know that there is a good TG01 French Forum where there may be some clues. I will have a look later and see if I can find the link.
