I agree. Can we get the Gingerbread OTA download somewhere? I am in the exact same boat. This is a spare device that I want to test on this ROM but not having luck installing it. Any ideas from anyone in here?

Good new, I found the 2.3 update for the phone. I found it on CyanogenMod's website http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Mot...l_Update_Guide for rooting and changing over even though they don't have a ROM for the D2.

They reference the download here - http://cmw.22aaf3.com/droid2/stock/VRZ_A955_2.3.20.zip.

I am testing it right now to see for sure if this works.

Ok, that was one big joke. The ROM and download both mention 2.3.20 but this is not a Gingerbread SBF, it is only a 2.2 Froyo build. I don't really understand but I have been let down again.

Any one else have luck installing without the OTA update? I would love to get this installed sometime for testing.

So total n00b question here. I'm a victim of the .629 OTA that broke root, but it seems that CWM still works (could successfully reboot into recovery and pull a backup).

Can I flash Liberty over the top of the .629 Update without bricking?

I'm getting an issue where the sound doesn't work, even though the volume is all the way up when trying to watch a video or listen to music. Rebooting fixes this, but comes back here and there, and it becomes annoying to keep rebooting. Will there be a fix for this?
