well I managed to do it myself
but there's one problem, some parts are still in chinese like the notifications bar and all....how can I fix that?
still having the same problem. rebooted and installed morelocale2...
the options in the notification bar and the date on the lockscreen is still in chinese!
1. I installed stock ics from huawei site and rooted it. tough I used the recovery "recovery-v8.img" because the one you posted did not work(I couldn't access recovery since there is no option in ics to disable fastboot).
2.After opening the custom recovery I wiped and installed miui v4(fixed version)
3.Rebooted and miui was just boot looping.
Now is there any chance to revert back to official huawei rom and try again?
I'm able to access pink screen.
I couldn't access recovery since there is no option in ics to disable fastboot.
Well, you should have read what I said, but since its really important I say it again:
DON'T ****ING USE THIS BUGGY RECOVERY VERSION "recovery-v8.img"
It does not work! You ****ed up your phone because this recovery version reboots after a minute or two which is not enough to flash a complete zip. If you only flash half of the zip file then your rom will not be able to boot!
But as long as you can access the pink screen, you can replace the recovery (with the good version that I posted in my first post) and then flash the ROM properly.
Gives this a try:
Remove back cover. Remove battery. Put back cover. Hold up button and power button. While bonding this combination, plug in USB power. Release the buttons about 5-6 seconds. See if this gets you to Recovery..
Just to update, the so called fixed, reloaded up MIUI ROM 2.3.26 at MOD EDIT: Link removed still cause bootloops on my Honor. I have reverted back to the one from MOD EDIT: Link removed.
Anyone has the All Backup apk? i want to restore my stuff with it
No, you can not uninstall a zip file. All that the recovery does is to unpack it into the root folder (and overwrites existing files there). You only need the recovery for this unpacking for two reasons:Hi, I am new to Android. I have a question, for U8860, you root by installing the su-3.0.3.2-signed.zip file right? So do I have to uninstall su-3.0.3.2-signed.zip to unroot my phone? If so, how do I do so? I don't see an uninstall option in the recovery menu.
And for the new B977 version for U8860, the only way to enable Google apps is by installing gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip right? Is it possible to root my phone, install the Google apps package and then unroot it?
I read from here that flashing the Google apps package in a non rooted Honor does not work anymore (Post #95). I did not try though.
