Rooting D2G

My moms phone got updated awhile back to the OTA GB 2.3, and so I wanna root it for here and do some stuff to make it run better for here, but I have no idea how to root it. I know how to root the D2G if its running Froyo, but I haven't used the D2G in forever. I only had one for a few months before switching to a droid x, and now I am rocking the LG Revolution. Which all those were easy to root, but I just cant seem to figure out how to root the D2G now that it has GB 2.3 on it.

I posted

moto blocked all known root methods in 4.5.629 and trying to SBF back to earlier versions will brick phone

haven't seen anyone post that they have tried this method
it's written for the Droid X2, but might work for D2G

manually root with Android Debug Bridge
