BMC is the CSC for Bell Mobility

If you flashed the UGKG3 firmware with all 3 files, you should already have the BMC CSC set.

Did you only flash the PDA portion?
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000m
ROM: Stock Gingerbread JW1 2.3.6
Modem & CSC: UGKG3
Kernel: Semaphore 2.5.0sc

Yes, I did flash all 3 files. So, like you said, I must have the BMC CSC!

I am confused now. If I have flashed the correct CSC, then why Kies doesn'y allow software upgarding? What is this "KOR" that Kies shows when it identifies my firmware?

You know what, the only thing that I can think of, is that just before flashing, I DID NOT do a factory reset. Can it be the culprit?

I had the latest Darky's Rom v.10.2 Extreme edition before I fash to Bell Canada stock rom.

Flashing the CSC doesn't automatically set your phone to that CSC. You need to switch to it after flashing the files by using a phone code.

You were right. I went back and chose the correct CSC for Canada which is BMC. Now Kies allows software upgrades.

Thanks guys!

Default advice need for galaxy s i9000 firmware for asia - singapore

Hi can someone advice how i can restore my galaxy s i9000 on any latest updated firmware under asia - singapore country?

i previously trying to do root on the phone and in the mid of rooting there was some issue end up causing the phone stuck at the screen of samsung logo. i manage to restore back the phone but there is no sound and not sure whether that is the correct restoration. this is the site (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475) where i followed the instruction and got the phone back running but it seems something is just not right but i couldn't tell.

hence i would like to ask if anyone can advice me on the latest firmware or how to get my phone back to its origin state condition and i would also like to root my phone. i'm not an expert in this thing hence can someone advice mi the procedures to how i can go about to change my current firmware?

there is another problem: when i plug in my galaxy s with the usb cable to my pc, my phone suppose to be charging while connected to the pc but instead the phone show the loading symbol in the centre (the round loading symbol) and display the battery empty on the next screen. both loading and the empty battery icon show and flashing which doesn't allow me to even transfer any file into the phone thru pc.

please advice.

yx

Canada has more than one CSC code.

CSC or Consumer Software Customization, is also called Sales Code, and is specific to geographical region and carriers. It contains the software packages specific to that region, carrier branding, as well as APN settings for data connection and MMS for your service provider.

Bell's Samsung KG3 contains CSC for BMC (Bell Mobility), VMC (Virgin Mobile), and BWA (Saskatel).
(The Classic) Samsung Galaxy S i9000
ROM: CyanogenMod 10 (JB 4.1.2) (Thanks to CyanogenMod community)
Kernel: Semaphore (Thanks to stratosk)

XXJW4 is added. This is a multiCSC firmware but you can change the CSC file and use the CSC that is related to your country.
