I don't run the ROM kernel but the size of the ROM is not affected by that. Big mem kernels such as semaphore and talon brake 720 HD video record because that requires more system resources and memory to record in that format and thereby allows that to be diverted to available system ram.

Actually from what I read, Slim ICS has extra RAM not because the size of the ROM but because of the way its compiled. I think it's sources is more efficient? krarvind answered me before in the I9000 forum but I still didn't really understand...

Free ram boost is kernel related....3.0 with glitch yields 338 mb but with stock 3.0 kernel gives 383mb

Bigger ram is kernel related. Once you change kernels you loose it. Karvin found a way to achieve this without braking 720 recording though wich is cool.

This Rom is really nice btw....never had Second Wave run so smoothly.

I've applied this and don't see any issues immediately. It looks great. I love the Slim ROM but have missed the more colorful aspects you bring to the table golf...

I think he means a version of Glitch that supports krar's changes

Updated: Info on Glitch v14b7:

- Upstream sync
- Added mem increase mod by Kali (CM Team) - 384MB RAM available with 720p recording working. It does need a patch on the rom side to work though. Make sure your rom supports it or you'll get broken 720p recording
- Force fast charging support - Thanks to Chad Froebel
- Fixes for light sensor
- Fascinate : Fixes for orientation sensor
- Recovery backup really fixed this time
- Fixup of our LiveOC code for selective LiveOC to be stabler and to most likely prevent memory corruption at low frequency resulting in GPU crash and/or reboots on some devices
