Default New CM7 user with problems!

Just got a Nook Tablet (BNTV250 1.4.2) and I am playing with CM7, which I installed from SD card using instructions from here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1481826

First of all, why is there no Nook Tablet section on the Cyanogenmod website? There is only a section for Nook Color?

Second, I recently started up my NT and it said "Installing software, please DO NOT turn off your device." While I saw the "Team-B" and "Cyanogenmod" splash screens, I think this was an update from the Nook OS. After this happened, CM7 won't boot. I see the 2 CM splash screens, but then it boots into the Nook OS.

What should I do? I tried holding the power button and the "n" button to go into recovery mode, but it doesn't do anything different.

So your stuck with normal b&n software? You could downgrade your b&n software back to the original, then try re-installing the CWM and CM7. Also get an app to block OTA updates as an update will give you the same problem again. I would root it using this then install the CM7.

Wipe and restore as stated above. Depending on root method used: Make sure OTA update is disabled. I did an early version where I froze it in Titanium Backup.

To address your question about why there is no section for the nook tablet on the cm site, this is because it is not officially supported by them. This is true for many many devices. What you see here is an unofficial port of cm7 for our device.

Hopefully it can be submitted to the cm team for review some day and added as an official port.

Hey thanks everyone for the responses - sorry I've been inactive; busy with work yada yada. So, a couple of follow-ups.

I'm fully prepared to root; this is not my first catastrophic crash using the SD install. So is the preferred method to root completely using the link you provided? I will try it that way, but I really like the idea of keeping the Nook OS intact, as that still functions perfectly when I remove the SD card. I'm always wary of a full root, as I should be.

Also, the update blocking thing is something I should've known. Thanks a ton for that info.

So, where is the "official unofficial" hosting for the Nook Tablet CM, updates, etc? Is it just somewhere in these forums? I read something about an active IRC channel but never found it.

Thanks again!

Threads in Nook Tablet Android Development have the various roms, including CM7, MIUI (based off of CM7) and CM9. Basically, because CM is open source, people who aren't officially on the CM team can take the code and use it to help create roms for other devices that the CM team is not officially working on (or just to do it)
