Default [Q] Do i really need Google Talk for android market/Google Play

Hi, read in some topics that google talk is needed to download apps from the market, but i got a r800x 2.3.3 and i deleted google talk and i can download apps.

I will be getting a R800I with 2.3.4 58, is google talk needed only in 2.3.4 to download apps or you don't need google talk and the info i saw is wrong?

thanks.

AFAIK, Google Talk is needed for the Market to work only in USA phones. Not sure why your R800x doesn't need it though

Google talk is required in all phones. I live in the uk, if i remove google talk, market downloads get stuck on downloading.
