Forgive my ignorance, but

Doesn't wiping the cache mean that all my information needs to be reentered? My phone is starting to hit that point of supreme lag nation and I'm running the GOv2 ROM.

Apps should be storing permanent data like settings and options in /data/ or the sdcard.
Cache is for temporary files like the images a browser displays.

Unless its a particularly horribly coded app, wiping the cache should not affect anything.

A bit Anecdotal, but I wiped both the cache partition and dalvik cache, nothing needed to be reentered in my apps.

Thanks for that information. I'm still a bit paranoid, so I'll do that after I back up my phone onto my computer at home.

I managed to
fix the screen jerking issue by pulling out the battery, cleaning the screen, and applying a screen protector.

I did find myself having to re enter my google creds afterward... didn't notice that until I had to sync.

You don't have to be stuck with the launcher it came with, especially when you have root, go explore the market, they have above 4 launchers available now or more, my favorite has to be launcherpro.

Yeah, this phone has a lot of freezing problems and a lot of lag on the default stock ROM. However, flashing to Glorious Overdose V2 should rid most of the problems. The one thing you should never do however with Glorious Overdose, is overclock with any app. It's not stable in that kernel for some reason, and will eventually crash if overclocked at any speed. What you can do rather, is uninstall unneeded applications, and overclock the Sidekick 4G to run at it's 1GHz. It's a preset called "performance"
