I just said what I use. And auto-brightness are doesn't work, this is something manually you have to do via command line or using the app I just said.

I searched Google Play and had no luck finding Auto Dim app. Any links would be much appreciated.

It's not Auto Dim or a auto dimming app. It's called RootDim.

Does anyone have the nvflash commands to backup and restore the Streak before flashing ICS?

I've searched and found it for other tablets but I don't know if it would work for the Streak.

I know giveen and steve have both done a GREAT job on this ROM. I just need a little insurance in case I screw the install up.

Thanks guys.

Join the club! I've asked the same question but never got an answer. You can't use an Android backup because the CWM version for say HC doesn't doesn't wotk with ICS. I've also asked if anyone has had a successful Android restore peroid and again no response.

I am not sure what you mean. You can back up via nvflash? I have a restorable zip if you like that will restore the DS7 to stock.

You could also restore by pushing the CWM recovery in adb then using a nandroid backup provided it doesn't get over written when flashing ICS.

There is always backing up in Titanium on HC or GB so that if you want to go back you can restore that way.
Want to thank me? Use this link and we both get 500 mb of dropbox space!

Mr. Wetzel402,

Thanks for your quick response.

I would like to get a copy of that zip file if possible.

Also, let me run this by you. I'm running stock Honeycomb. I have a nand backup which I can off load to my PC just to be safe. Does the ICS ROM include CWM and if so, could I use my Honeycomb nand backup to restore back to Honeycomb if necessary?

Thanks again for offering your help.

ICS B4 does include CWM but the partitioning is different, Nandroid backup fails to complete and I was told that the restore will fail also because of this. You'd have to get back to HC to restore your backup but as I mentioned above, nobody has ever responded to my question about a successful restore with any ROM.

Several have metioned that one can perform a NVflash backup but when asked how, they really don't know exactly how. I've searched but never found anything on the subject.

As wptski mentions, no.

I am unaware how to do this also but what I would do is restore via this nvflash file. Just make sure you have everything backed up because it will be bone stock unrooted afterward (I believe GB but I can't remember for certain....been a long while since I bricked this baby :P ).

Try extracting the folder to the Android SDK root directory and then run it.

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/56179974/nvflash.zip

Edit: No need to extract to a specific directory. It can be ran from anywhere.

I currently have my DS7 backing up via nvflash and so far is successful. If it succeeds I will upload
