Anyone have any ideas?

I was able to rectify the problem, thought I would post it in case anyone else is noob-like like myself...
Live dmsg light has it's own disable function... Just reinstall, disable, then uninstall

You can change it, there is a full write up in the themes and apps section.
Get your image (specific dimensions etc..) use terminal editor and do:
su
dd if=/mnt/sdcard/splash.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p14
(Of course point the in file [if=] at the location/name of your new splash image)

I used this guide:

I have had this boot animation on every Android phone I have ever had, I love it. Every time I change it to something else, I always come back to this one. The video is not mine, but it is the same animation.

Here is where you can download it from, or if you happen to have the app Absolute System, it is one of the boot animations you can choose from. It is called The Call of Android. If you are using Absolute System to change you animation for you, be sure to change the install location to the proper location for our phones (I can't think of it off the top of my head) Then when you change it, it will say that it failed to install it, but it did, just reboot and enjoy.
