I would re install and make sure your using the correct and current g apps. I just updated my phone and everything is working fine for me.

Unfortunately he is getting a force close when he attempts to disable the soft key buttons. Any other possibilities?

Maybe you should just start over again re download the ROM along with the gapps wipe everything and install, Or your can just wipe and reinstall.

I always verify MD5 checksums before flashing. Especially if I'm downloading over a cell network. I downloaded Gummy 1.0 today, and after doing a full wipe and installing the latest Gapps, my phone is great. I see a lot of problems being posted here, but I'm glad I'm not having any. I doubt my hardware is any different than those having problems. Probably just all in method. The devil is in the details! Read, and please UNDERSTAND what it is you are doing before doing it. Not just phones. That's life.

Install Franco Kernel. Make sure an application is not draining your battery in the background. When you know you wont have coverage, use airplane mode.

What's the best app for doing that? I haven't upgraded yet, but something has been killing my battery lately, and I don't know what it is. Is there something that can tell me which app is running in the background and sucking the life out of my battery?
