Well actually any app you add or remove will "affect" your system, either in good or bad meaning ;)
I think at the 1st post Flo already tells clearly which should remove and which not. Newbies like me will try that first before any custlmization (eg, now I want to remove Navigation, Latitude and some others)
Sorry for my poor english

I don't think that the WeatherWidget.apk is necessary. It came with 4.0.2.A.0.42, removed it, no issues so far!

Yeah, removed a lot of widgets on my phone now, too.
But I want to keep most functions of the phone working with this tutorial and just save RAM that's wasted by apps no one really needs to increase the performance.

Also this list is compatible with the .69 firmware, too.

For my Arc S on .62 FW this is what i removed:

chinesetextinput.apk
EventStream.apk
EventStreamPluginCallLog.apk
EventStreamPluginFacebook.apk
EventStreamPluginTelephony.apk
EventStreamPluginTwitter.apk
FBIAppShare.apk
FBMediaDiscovery.apk
FBMusicLike.apk
GoogleLyricsPlugin.apk
IddAgent.apk
JapaneseIME.apk
letsgolf_ay.apk
livewaremanager.apk
officesuite.apk
OmaDatasyncService.apk
POBoxSknPink.apk
POBoxSknWood.apk
SemcCrashMonitor.apk
SemcDlna.apk
storefront.apk
TimescapeRssPlugin.apk
TimescapeSpline.apk
TimescapeWidget.apk
trackid.apk
wisepilot.apk
YouTubeKaraokePlugin.apk
YouTubePlugin.apk

Some of them aren't junk, I just don't like/use them. That's 38MB worth of reclaimed space too.

I removed them via Titanium backup and can restore them when I need to
